ADHD dev who got into med school to understand my own brain
hey everyone
I'm Heejin, a full-stack developer with ADHD.
quick story: I've been mass-unemployable for years because of ADHD. couldn't hold jobs, couldn't finish projects, the usual cycle. every productivity app failed me because they all assume you can "just make a list and do it."
so I did something kind of extreme - I got into med school specifically to study neuroscience. currently studying neuroanatomy. wanted to actually understand why my brain works the way it does.
now I'm building a task app based on what I'm learning. not just another planner - stuff like:
visual timers for time blindness (based on Dr. Barkley's research)
AI body doubling for task initiation
micro-rewards for dopamine-hungry brains
focus mode to reduce cognitive overload
competing in Microsoft Imagine Cup 2026 with it. just launched on Reddit and got absolutely roasted lol. but the criticism actually helped me refocus on the science instead of just features.
excited to be here. always looking for feedback from people who actually get it.

I can feel you! I am also trying to build an ADHD reminder and notebook! I am really interested in knowing more about ADHD brain, about what would really make an ADHD keep notes in one place and be more productive. I am also ADHD, but I am not quite sure all the ADHD share my characteristics. I am basically like: constantly got distracted, always feel the need to multitasking, and forgot what I was doing few minutes ago and thoughts flying around but not catching them.
