Hydra - Run a team of coding agents without wrecking your repo

by•
Give Hydra one prompt and it splits the work across a team of coding agents running in parallel. Each agent gets its own git worktree and branch, and nothing lands until it clears gates: tests, screenshots, and a read-only review. Multi-step plans run in dependency order. Hydra never asks for your API key or reads your credentials. Open source, MIT.

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Nico, the maker of Hydra. I built it because running one coding agent at a time felt like the bottleneck. Running several at once in the same checkout is worse: they overwrite each other’s work, and you end up reviewing a mess. Hydra’s fix is the “head.” Each head is an agent working in its own git worktree and branch, so parallel work can’t collide. Nothing lands on trust: every head has to pass gates (your test commands, screenshots, a read-only review) before it merges into an integration branch. For bigger jobs, you can write a plan where steps depend on each other and Hydra runs them in order. It comes as an IDE built on VS Code and a lighter app built around the chat. Hydra never asks for your API key or reads your credentials, and it’s MIT licensed. Heads up: the Windows installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you. Click “More info” → “Run anyway.” I’d love to hear what you’d throw at a hydra first, and what’s missing.
