Huntr - The free terminal for fundamental stock analysis

by
Most stock research tools are either free-but-shallow or powerful-but-locked-behind-a-paywall. Huntr sits in between: a DCF calculator with a Position Decision engine and Capital Allocator model, a Stock Screener, an Opportunity Radar for unusual volume/buybacks, and 20-year historical charts, all free, in Guest Mode with zero signup. Built solo, shipped fast: this relaunch adds a new Screener, Light Mode, and a full UI rebuild based on what didn't work the first time around.

Hey PH 👋 I'm the solo dev behind Huntr. I launched here 5 months ago and it barely made a dent, but the "why" behind this never changed: I wanted the kind of fundamental-analysis tooling hedge funds and serious retail investors pay hundreds a month for, available to anyone, for free. The first version was rough. It worked, but it didn't feel like a real product, the UI was inconsistent, there was no way to browse without signing up, and a few core flows (DCF modeling especially) were clunky. So I rebuilt it almost entirely: • Guest Mode, try the whole platform before creating an account • A new Stock Screener + Light Mode • A proper DCF suite: two-stage model, Position Decision engine, Capital Allocator • Faster Earnings + Portfolio views, 20-year historical data The biggest shift in my process was starting to treat this like a product people would judge in the first 10 seconds, not just a tool that technically works. Every screen got rebuilt with that lens. It's still 100% free, still built by one person, and I'm here all day, tell me what's broken, what's confusing, or what you'd want next.
