I’m one of the co-founders of Heyu.
A while ago, my two co-founders and I realized something depressing: we’d spent years on dating apps, spent money on subscriptions, and walked away feeling drained, invisible, and burnt out.
When we looked into why, the answer was obvious: big-tech dating apps are engineered like slot machines. They hide your profile behind hidden attractiveness algorithms unless you pay for boosts, and they let people upload 5-year-old vacation photos that lead to non-stop catfishing.
So, we decided to stop complaining and build the solution ourselves.
Why Heyu is different:
-Zero Gallery Uploads: Every photo is taken live in the app with a fresh timestamp. What you see is who you meet.
-No Pay-To-Win Algorithms: If someone is near you and fits your age/gender filters, you see them. We don't hide users or rate how "popular" you are.
-Badges Earned, Not Bought: You can't buy a "Good Texter" badge. You can only unlock it after holding a real, multi-day conversation with someone.
