Hello, Product Hunt! I’m Brad, a software engineer based in Toronto and the creator of Headlines. I’m thrilled to be launching this app today for folks who love to read content on the web. It’s available now for iOS and web, along with browser extensions for popular browsers. I've been an RSS user since the Google Reader days, and like many enthusiasts, I was saddened when it shut down and have been looking for a replacement for years. I've bounced around to many feed readers that are out there, and while most of them are solid, I was never able to re-capture the vibe Google Reader gave me back in those early days. Worse, some of them require subscribing to a separate service for crawling feeds, while others have no free tier to get started with. I felt like there was an opportunity for an app that addressed these things by: - 📰 Providing a great reading app and a great crawler service all in one affordable package - 🤔 Appealing to a wider audience by abstracting away the nerdy details: what if folks who don't even know what RSS is could get some value out of a service like this, while still appealing to experienced users by offering powerful features? - 🛠️ Sweating the details on every aspect to provide a great reading experience on mobile and web, and also provide browser extensions for popular browsers After a few years of development on the project, I’m very proud of Headlines today and have a lot of plans to make it even better. It’s an app that I love to use every day, so I am thrilled to share it with others in hopes you like it as much as I do. You can get started with Headlines today for free with reasonable limits. If you feel like you’d like to go beyond those limits and access more advanced features, check out the Headlines Pro tier. And if you do give the app a shot, I would absolutely love your feedback!
