👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm Iana, the founder of Handy. Handy started with a problem I kept running into myself. Whenever I needed a contractor for a home project, I never knew where to look or who I could actually trust. Finding someone available was hard—but knowing whether they were reliable was even harder. When I started researching the U.S. market, I discovered another problem. Many contractors still find customers through Facebook groups or pay expensive lead-generation platforms that charge for every lead—even if that lead never turns into a job. It felt like both sides were losing. Homeowners struggle to find trustworthy professionals, while contractors spend too much time and money chasing work instead of doing it. So I started building Handy. Today, Handy helps homeowners find local professionals and helps contractors generate AI-powered estimates, create proposals, and manage their business—all in one place. But this is just the beginning. My long-term vision is to build a trusted network of verified contractors. My background is in fintech, where compliance, identity verification, and trust are fundamental. I believe those same principles can make hiring home service professionals much safer and more transparent. Verification isn't part of the MVP yet, but it's one of the core features I'm working toward because trust—not just leads—is what this industry needs most. I'd genuinely love your feedback. Would contractor verification make you more likely to use a platform like Handy? Thanks so much for checking out Handy. Every comment and suggestion helps shape what's next. ❤️

honestly this looks solid, the AI estimates part is a big deal for contractors. one thing i'd want to see is a built-in review verification system, like confirming the homeowner actually hired the pro through handy before they can leave a star rating, so the reviews stay legit and trustworthy.

Hey! You can not "rank" neither the contractor nor the client if you have not been working together

Finally an app that tackles both sides of the contractor headache. The estimate builder was surprisingly quick to set up and the pro search felt way more trustworthy than the usual directories.

 Thanks!

Would love to see an in-app messaging feature so I can chat with homeowners directly without sharing my personal number. A lot of the time questions pop up mid-job about scope changes, and having it all documented in one place would save a ton of confusion and keep everything tidy for both sides.

Hey! It is already implemented - you are chatting between each other right in the app and have no option to share your number before that:) You need to apply and be chosen first:)

love that you baked the estimating and proposal flow right into the marketplace itself, so contractors aren't bouncing between five different tabs just to send a quote. that kind of end-to-end thinking is what actually makes the difference for people running small shops.

 Thanks!

Love the idea of cutting paperwork friction for contractors. One suggestion would be a built-in pricebook tied to local zip codes, so pros can auto-populate estimates with realistic labor and material rates for their area instead of guessing. Would save a ton of time on every proposal.

Hey! It's already partially added - not based on ZIP (a bit too complicated without much data yet) but based on the type of the job they apply for. Same for Clients - they can estimate the price!
