GRAZE devlog: 100 daily players, four new obstacles, and a bug that only showed up as a feeling

Quick update on GRAZE: Edge Rush, the one-tap game where you score by almost dying.

100 people now play it every day. Every one of them flies the exact same course, because the level is generated from the date itself. No server, nothing downloaded, no advantage. Your score is directly comparable to everyone else's, which is the entire reason the daily board is worth caring about.

WHAT SHIPPED

Four new obstacles, and each one changes how you fly rather than just what you dodge. CANYON is a corridor you live inside instead of a gate you cross, so riding the wall means your multiplier climbs the whole way. FORK gives you two lanes: the wide one is free and pays nothing, the needle one is barely wider than you are and pays. DRIFT pushes you toward the edge the entire time you are in it. MINEFIELD has no gap to aim at, just a field and however many routes you can find through it.

Yesterday's leaderboard no longer disappears. You can open it back up and see exactly how the day ended and who took it.

And you can now share a run: score, plus exactly where it put you on today's board, straight into a text.

THE BUG

Players kept saying the pacing "felt wrong" near the new obstacles. Nobody could say why.

Wide obstacles were spawning further off-screen than narrow ones, which silently added their own width to the gap in front of them. Up to two full screen-widths of dead air. Your multiplier decays after 1.5 seconds without a graze, so arriving at a big hazard cost you a whole tier before you got there. You were being punished for empty space.

I instrumented the level generator, ran it headless over 200 screens, and measured every gap in seconds instead of pixels. Gaps that cost a tier: 9.8% before, 0% after. The course is faster and reads as continuous now.

That is the kind of bug you cannot playtest your way to. It only ever surfaces as a vibe.

WHERE TO FIND IT

Its right here on Product Hunt. If you have thirty seconds, a look at the page genuinely helps

Free on iOS, no forced ads, no in-app purchases:

It also won #1 Game Launch of the Week on PixelPicked a week ago, which is still the best day I have had with it.

Today's board resets at midnight UTC. It is still open.
