Humans give instructions and AI negotiates meaning
by•
Even simple commands become a negotiation between :
intent,
interpretation,
context,
and constraints.
Interfaces aren’t static ,
they’re conversational.
I would love hear from the crowd how often does instructing an AI feel like a negotiation in your workflow?

For me, it is every interaction, regardless of platform - but for different reasons. With ChatGPT, it is trying to get it to focus on the literal query, Gemini is retaining more context during interation, Claude is tone - it's trained to flatten and smooth and cheerlead, so it's hard to get to a critical answer with any speed.

@dmitcha That’s a sharp observation. Each system negotiates a different axis . It focus, memory, or tone which means users end up compensating in different ways. It highlights that “interface design” in AI is no longer just UX, but model behavior and defaults shaping how much effort the human has to spend steering the outcome.
