Building GPT Prompt Maker: prompts that actually work, without the guesswork

by

We're a few weeks out from launching GPT Prompt Maker on Product Hunt, and wanted to open this thread early to get feedback from this community while we're still shaping the final version.

The problem we kept running into:
Every AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) is only as good as what you feed it. Most people type vague requests and get vague answers back, then assume the model just isn't that capable. The real gap isn't the model. It's that almost nobody has a repeatable way to write a good prompt every time.

What we're building:
GPT Prompt Maker is a prompt library and builder that removes the guesswork:

  • 500+ tested prompt templates across 29 categories (writing, coding, marketing, strategy, and more)

  • A prompt builder that walks you through the pieces a strong prompt needs (role, context, format, constraints) instead of a blank box

  • A personal Prompt Vault to save and reuse what works

  • Works across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, one library for every tool

Since launch, the library has powered 6,500+ prompts generated by real users testing it out.

Why we're posting here first:
We'd rather hear the hard questions now than after launch day. If you've used prompt libraries or AI writing tools before, what made you stick with one or drop it? What's missing from every prompt tool you've tried so far?

Genuinely looking for feedback, not just upvotes. We'll be in the comments.
