We just set this up for the producthunt.com domain - and I must admit: Its a little bit basic, and difficult to get actionable data out of it (mostly graphs with percentages, but no way to dig in). Feels a little bit like Google Webmaster Tools in its early days.
This might be a bit better when one adds per-campaign tags (https://support.google.com/mail/...), which we're looking into now.

It feels more major than it really is. It's Google's entry into theMailchimp space -- email marketing -- but just dipping their toes in the water. A player to watch, obviously, and may set some standards (for the better) of email marketing, but hopefully it's just another competitor (and therefore improver) to the already awesome tools -- instead of an app killer.
