I made a modern cross-platform Git GUI written in 100% Rust (GitYas)
Long time coming. After 2 years of working on my passion project (originally using Tauri with a react frontend until I migrated to 100% Rust using egui for the frontend instead), I am finally ready to release to the world my creation.
It’s free. Every Git feature is free on all three platforms.
v1.0.0 Features:
- Auto updating with signing code release checks for security, cross-platform on macos (x86_64 & arm, app is signed and notarized), windows and linux.
- A fully visual commit graph, coloured branch lanes so merges are easy to follow, dark and light themes (with customizable themes coming in the future too), zoom control, customizable pinning the icon action bar to the top, right, bottom or left side in the settings > Appearance panel.
- Stashes, Tagging, Branching, Branch focusing, Resetting commits with soft (keep changes) or hard (discard changes), auto fetching at particular configurable intervals,
- Diff in 3 different ways, Hunk, Inline, or Side-by-side split view, Stage or Unstage individual hunks
- Word-level/Syntax highlighting inside changed lines with support for 60+ languages (Inspired by Zed editors semantic tokens tree-sitter algorithms)
- An insane easy to use Merge conflict editor you can configure and layout yourself. 6 different presets to choose from, dragging panels around, take single lines of conflicted chunks by simply clicking on the line or the whole chunk by clicking on the side highlighted bar of the chunk, Edit results directly with undo, redo and reset capabilities, clear handling for the awkward cases: binary files, deleted-vs-modified, submodules, symlinks, non-UTF-8 and very large files
- Integration support for GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket and Azure Devops (with more service providers coming soon & OAuth integration support too instead of tokens)
