Geyi - Translate and organize your knowledge with AI

Hi Product Hunt :wave: I’m Erika, founder of Geyi. Geyi started with a very simple problem: I spent years translating and researching historical materials, and I was constantly fighting with scanned PDFs, bad OCR, vertical text, footnotes, difficult layouts, and documents in different languages. So we first built Geyi to make complex documents easier to translate and actually usable. But then we noticed something more frustrating: after the translation was finished, all the work around it disappeared again. Notes, terminology, corrections, citations, and connections between documents were scattered across different tools. That pushed us to build a persistent knowledge space — and now, step by step, Geyi is becoming an AI research workspace where you can translate, read, search across documents, compare sources, trace evidence, and work with your own materials over time. What we care about most is not just getting an AI-generated answer. We want you to be able to see where an answer came from, go back to the original source, correct it when needed, and keep that work for the next research session instead of starting from zero again. We’re especially focused on messy, real-world research materials: books, archives, scanned documents, old newspapers, multilingual sources, and long PDFs that don’t fit neatly into most AI tools. We’re still a very small team, and Geyi has grown mostly from people using it for real research and document work. That means there are still plenty of rough edges — which is also why launching here is exciting for us. I’d especially love feedback on three things: What part of your research/document workflow is still the most painful even with today’s AI tools? Would you rather have an AI that gives you a faster answer, or one that helps you build a long-term research workspace around your own sources?
