Why aren't there more LATAM launches (and product communities) on Product Hunt? 🌎
Hey Product Hunt community! 👋
I’ve been reflecting on the global maker landscape lately, particularly around Latin America (LATAM).
On one hand, LATAM’s startup ecosystem is booming—fintech, B2B SaaS, and incredible builder talent are thriving across the region. On the other hand, when browsing Product Hunt, launches from LATAM-based founders (or communities built around LATAM makers) feel relatively rare compared to regions like North America, Europe, or South Asia.
It made me wonder about the underlying reasons behind this gap:
Language & Target Audience: Are LATAM founders primarily solving local or regional problems in Spanish/Portuguese, making a global English platform like PH less aligned with their initial ICP?
Launch Culture: Is the "build in public" culture happening elsewhere in the region (e.g., local Slack/WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn, offline networks)?
Platform Perception: Do regional makers feel PH is tailored mainly for US/Silicon Valley-style products?
I’d love to hear from makers, hunters, and founders—both from LATAM and globally:
If you're from LATAM: Where do you usually launch or look for early feedback?
If you're a global builder: What has been your experience engaging with regional product communities?

To kick things off with my own perspective: I’m based in Montevideo, Uruguay 🇺🇾 (a small country in South America, sandwiched between Argentina and Brazil, but with a surprisingly huge tech export scene!).
From what I see locally, many founders here build directly for global B2B markets or regional LATAM problems, but 'launching in public' on Product Hunt isn't part of the traditional playbook yet. Most of the networking happens in private channels, LinkedIn, or local hubs.
Excited to hear where makers from other countries usually hang out!
