When recurring data becomes a manager decision

One thing I’ve learned while building operational software: recurring records are not automatically useful just because they are complete.

A manager rarely needs every detail first. They need to see what keeps recurring, where it is happening, and whether someone can act on it. The tradeoff is that a summary can hide context, while a raw log hides the pattern.

For makers whose products generate recurring reports, what did you learn about choosing the smallest summary that still led users to the right next action?
