Nothing prepare you for refreshing the PH leaderboard every 4 minutes like it's a slot machine. Ask me how I know.
The search thing caught me off guard. Never really thought about getting users before the PH launch.
Honestly, the biggest surprise was how little the launch itself mattered. Most of my early users came from search before launch day, not the 24h spike. The leaderboard, in hindsight, was mostly vanity.
