The five tools I would buy again and the one I'm second guessing

by•

Switching between applications throughout the day is the silent tax of working alone. After a year of doing almost everything, I have whittled down my list of applications to five that I would willingly pay for: Raycast for application launch and clipboard history, Granola for meeting notes, Supabase for the backend, PostHog for product analytics, and n8n for connecting them together.

The commonality in all of these applications is that each of them has taken the place of two or three other applications rather than adding another. Granola allowed me to stop stopping calls to take notes. Raycast put an end to a clipboard manager, a snippets application, and a window manager.

The one I am uncertain about is PostHog. It is very strong, but I only utilize about fifteen percent of it, and the autocapture noise makes me doubt the validity of my own funnels. Part of me wishes for something more streamlined.

What are yours? Has anyone traded out PostHog for something more lightweight and not regretted it? I am particularly interested in those tools that you tried, loved for a month, and then silently ditched.
