Is notes app enough though
I’ve been that person at every event for the last 3 months.
Samsung Xcelerate, IMC, GFF, GTM Builders Bangalore, two random roundtables in Gurgaon where the AC was too loud. I go, I collect 30 business cards, I have 20 conversations that feel important in the moment, and I come back with… nothing.
Not literally nothing. I have a Notes app with half-sentences like "Rohan - fintech infra - wants intros", ver similar contact history and 15 LinkedIn requests I sent at 1am saying "great chatting!"
Last week at IMC, I met a guy building in power trading. We spoke for 12 minutes about discom delays and BESS financing. It was the exact insight I needed for a deck I was building. By the time I got to the metro, I’d forgotten his company name.
At GTM Builders, I had 3 back-to-back conversations about outbound workflows. One person mentioned a Clay + HubSpot trick that could save me 10 hours a week. I remember nodding hard. I do not remember the trick.
We have AI that can write emails and build agents, but at events we’re still relying on memory and sweaty handshakes.
I’m realizing the most expensive part of an event isn’t the ticket. It’s the 90% of conversations you forget to follow up on.
I’m starting to wonder if I need a second brain just for events. Something that listens, remembers who said what, and tells me next morning “hey, here are the 4 people you should actually email.”
Does something like that exist? Or are we all just pretending our Notes app works?
