I'm trying to solve online friendships and online human connecions. Am I solving a real problem?
I'm trying to solve online friendships. Am I solving a real problem?
Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about something that's been bothering me for a while.
Making genuine online friends feels much harder than it used to.
Most platforms today optimize for:
more swipes,
more matches,
more conversations,
instead of helping two strangers actually become friends.
I'm exploring an idea where people are randomly matched, encouraged to invest in the conversation, and given interesting things to do together instead of staring at an empty chat box.
I'm deliberately not sharing every feature because I don't want to bias the discussion.
Instead, I'd love your thoughts:
Why do online conversations usually die after a few messages?
What's the biggest thing existing friendship apps get wrong?
If you could redesign online friendships from scratch, what would you change?
I'm building this based on community feedback, so I'll reply to every comment.
