I blamed a title edit for a page dropping out of Google. It was back the next day.
On 16 Sep I rewrote the title of one of my blog posts, a case study guide on AI in manufacturing. Google recrawled it on 18 Sep at 07:06, and the same day Search Console moved it from indexed to crawled, currently not indexed.
I posted about it that day as if the edit had cost me the page. In my next daily report, on 19 Sep, it was listed as newly indexed again. I had not touched it.
So I counted. I keep a daily Search Console export for my site, 96 reports since late July. 35 of them list at least one page as newly indexed since the day before. Pages drop out and come back on their own constantly, edit or no edit.
One drop right after a change told me nothing, and I had no untouched page to compare it with.
When a page you just changed drops out of the index, how long do you wait before you decide the change caused it?

Keeping those daily exports really paid off here. Otherwise, it's easy to blame the last thing you changed.
