Tomorrow arrives…
…and it’s another day of PRs, bugs, meetings, helping teammates, and context switching.
Is this just me, or is this the default experience for most software engineers?

Default, bro. The real exception is getting a full day of uninterrupted focus time.
Most dev days are some mix of planned work, surprise bugs, PR reviews, teammate help, and random context switching. The annoying part is not that it happens, it is that most teams still plan as if it will not.
@aditya_harish_2002 exactly. The work itself is real, but the planning model is usually too clean.
@akarsh_hegde Yeah, exactly. The calendar looks clean, but the actual day has all the hidden engineering work packed between the boxes. PR reviews, debugging, helping someone unblock, chasing weird edge cases. That stuff is not “extra”, it is the job.
Pretty much the default. The hard part is not the chaos itself, it is that most planning still assumes engineers will get long, clean focus blocks every day. In reality, PRs, bugs, meetings, and teammate questions are part of the job, so teams need to leave room for them instead of treating them like interruptions.
Exactly. That “interruption” label is the problem.
