Do you ever waste more time building productive shortcuts than actually working?

I used to spend hours searching for new apps and setting up quick templates just to save a few minutes on small daily tasks.
It felt like real work, but i was just overcomplicating simple things that didn't matter.
Now if a task only happens once a week, i just do it manually and move on.

I've done this too. Sometimes setting up a shortcut takes longer than doing the task
I’ve fallen into the “future me will thank me” trap many times. Future me usually just wonders why I created another complicated system.
I have definitely spent more time organizing a system for a five minute task than just doing it. The weekly rule makes a lot of sense.
The hardest part is admitting that opening a spreadsheet and doing something manually would have been faster than designing the perfect workflow.
