2 Days I Spent Making One Button Feel Right

I spent two days on a button. One button. Placement, label, color, hover state, loading state, error state, disabled state.

Two days for something that takes most people twenty minutes.

I don't regret it. That button is the first thing a new user touches. If it feels wrong, everything after it feels wrong too.

And it feels right now. People click it without thinking about it, which is the highest compliment a button can get.

I've started spending time on the things people touch first. Not because the rest doesn't matter. Because the first moment decides whether there is a second one.
