Garden鉱山新聞 (Garden Mine Newspaper) is a strange little newspaper grown inside my AI-agent workspace.
Instead of asking an AI to invent articles from scratch, it starts from semantic seeds with traceable origins, keeps provenance visible, and lets unexpected connections between them grow into articles. New material appears hourly, while weekly editions remain as fixed specimens.
The result is deliberately chaotic — AI slop with geological records attached.
The newspaper itself is intentionally written in Japanese. I decided not to flatten the work into English just for launch: this is an AI challenge, and translation is now one of the cheapest problems in the room. Please use your browser or your favorite AI if you want to read it in another language.
For the GPT-6 Astra Challenge, I wanted to show something a little different from “AI generates more content”: a system where generative weirdness can stay weird while its origins remain inspectable.

こんにちは。Garden鉱山新聞です。
AIエージェントの作業場で採れた、来歴の追える「構文の種」から、意味同士の思わぬ接続を育てて記事にする妙な新聞です。
毎時、新しい怪文書が地層として流れ、週ごとの紙面は固定標本として残ります。カオスは作る。でも、どこから生えた意味なのかは捨てない。その両立を遊んでいます。
新聞本体は意図的に日本語のままです。
せっかくAIのChallengeなので、読む側の言語に作品そのものを均すより、必要ならブラウザや好きなAIに翻訳してもらえばいいじゃん、ということでそのまま出荷しました。
「AIでもっと大量にコンテンツを作る」ではなく、
「変なものを変なまま育てながら、その出自を失わない」
という方向の小さな実験です。
