I built an Australian dating platform where messaging stays free 🇦🇺

I’ve just finished building G’Dayte, an Australian-first dating platform, and it launches on Product Hunt tomorrow.

The idea came from something that kept bothering me about modern dating apps: basic interaction increasingly feels like something you have to keep paying to unlock.

With G’Dayte, people can create a profile, discover Australian singles, match, wink and message their matches without needing a subscription.

There are optional paid boosts for extra visibility, but I don’t want the core dating experience locked behind a paywall.

The biggest challenge now isn’t building features, it’s building the first real community and solving the classic dating-app problem where nobody wants to join an empty platform.

So I’d genuinely love some feedback:

What would a new dating app have to do differently for you to actually try it instead of Tinder, Bumble or Hinge?

I’m especially interested in thoughts around trust, safety, matching, profiles and what makes people stick around after signing up.
