Freelancers: would you let an AI send a payment reminder for you?

by•

Hi all 👋 I'm Zahid, one of the makers of Twin-Gig. We launch here on Wednesday 30 Sept 2026, but this isn't the launch post. I'd like your honest take on something first.

Would you let an AI send a payment reminder to one of your clients without reading it first?

The worst hour of my month was chasing invoices. I'd rewrite 'just following up on invoice #14' five times so it didn't sound needy, then send it a week late anyway."

That's the problem we built Twin-Gig for. It learns how you write from 2–3 of your sent emails (your openers, sign-offs and tone), then drafts the business side of freelancing in that voice: client replies, proposals, and invoice reminders that go out 2 days before the due date, on the day, then at +3, +7 and +14 days, stopping the moment the client pays.

Where we've landed on trust, for now:

• By default nothing is sent without your OK. Drafts wait in a review queue, and so do reminders.

• You can let reminders send on their own, and put replies on autopilot for specific clients rather than everyone.

• Reply autopilot waits 30 minutes, so it never beats you to your own inbox. It can be limited to your working hours, and it still leaves anything sensitive or low-confidence for you.

I'm honestly not sure where the line is for most freelancers, so:

1. Would you let it send reminders on its own? For which clients, and from which day?

2. Which client email would you hand off first?

I'll read and reply to every answer. If you want to see it on Wednesday: [notify-me link]
