I'm Mary, builder of Finny.

I built Finny after repeatedly failing at expense tracking myself. Every app required manual logging, and I would stay consistent for a few days before giving up.

I eventually realized I was not bad at budgeting. I was bad at logging.

So I started exploring a simple question: what if tracking expenses could take just a few seconds, or even happen automatically in the background.

I also wanted a solution that did not rely on bank integrations, because I never felt comfortable sharing that level of financial access just to stay aware of my spending.

That idea led to features like:
