Launching 9/15 — Filer turns your folder tree into a hierarchy of AI agents

Quick heads up before we go live on 9/15 — we've been heads-down building something we think changes how "AI + files" should work, and wanted to start the conversation early.

The idea: Filer turns your folder tree into a living hierarchy of AI Working Agents — one per folder, scoped to exactly that folder's contents. They react to new files, run on a schedule, watch a channel (Telegram/Slack/email), or delegate down to sub-folders. Fully local, works with whatever model you want — local model, OpenAI, Anthropic, or your company's own AI server.

So instead of one big chatbot you dump everything into, you get a bunch of small, focused agents that each only know about — and only touch — their own folder. An Invoices/ agent doesn't know or care what's in Contracts/, and vice versa. Feels a lot more like how you'd actually delegate work to a person.

Right-click actions (summarize, translate, proofread, find dupes, convert) are the instant-gratification layer. Folder agents are the "keeps working while you're away" layer.
