Ember - The AI Keeper for your real relationships

A private relationship keeper: an AI that understands your relationships and one place for everything you need to remember about the people who matter. Say one sentence and Keeper saves the note, sets the reminder, or answers questions like "who have I not talked to in three weeks?" Works for family, friends, clients, and mentors. No feed, no followers, no likes. Optional encrypted sync. Free to start on iPhone and Android.

I built Ember because the usual tools around relationships felt wrong. Social media helps us watch people. Contact apps remember phone numbers. None of them helps with the actual remembering: that a friend moved, that a client's daughter just started college, that someone had a hard week, or that you promised to follow up after the new job. Ember is one private place for all of that. You save notes about the people who matter, set gentle reminders, and ask Keeper, the AI inside Ember, questions like "who have I not talked to in three weeks?" or "what should I ask David about before our call?" Keeper actually understands the relationship context, so one spoken sentence becomes a note, a reminder, or an answer. It works for family and close friends, and just as well for clients, mentors, and the people you work with. No feed. No followers. No likes. I would love feedback on the positioning: does "relationship keeper" land, or does "personal CRM" say it better?

How does the local-first storage actually work if I switch between iPhone and Android, do my notes just live on one device unless I pay for the encrypted sync?

great question! Sync is not paywalled. Your notes live in a local database on your device first, so everything works offline. When you sign in (free account), changes sync through an encrypted channel, so switching between iPhone and Android just works: sign in on the new device and your people, notes, and reminders pull down. If you never sign in, your data simply stays on that one device.

Been wanting something like this for ages—finally a simple way to remember the small stuff about people without it living in five different apps. The voice capture for quick notes feels really natural.

Thanks Sedat, voice was the unlock for me too. Typing notes about people feels like homework; saying one sentence right after a call doesn't. Curious what you end up saving first: the small stuff (allergies, kids' names, what they're working on) tends to be what pays off weeks later.

How does Ember actually pull context from past conversations or notes when I ask something like that three-week question — is it just timestamps or does it try to read the content too?

Both, actually. Recency questions like the three-week one use the timestamps on your interaction log, but Keeper also reads the content of the notes you saved. Everything lives on your device; when you ask a question, only the relevant saved notes are sent to the LLM for processing, nothing else. And if you turn on sync, what sits on our cloud is fully encrypted. Keeper never reads your messages or conversations from other apps, only what you chose to save in Ember.
