Hey Product Hunt šŸ‘‹ I'm the solo dev behind Echon. Built it because I wanted Discord's UX without third-party scripts watching everything I say. A few things I'm proud of: ā€¢ Native 30fps / 1440p screen share on desktop (most Tauri/Electron apps cap at 15fps ā€” I had to write a separate Rust sidecar to beat it) ā€¢ Auto-updating with a launcher binary in front, so a panic in the app can't lock users out of receiving fixes ā€¢ Same React bundle ships to web, desktop, and as a PWA on mobile ā€¢ 256-bit Argon2id passwords, no analytics, no SDKs phoning home Honest about what's missing: no E2EE yet, no Authenticode signing cert, single-EC2 (no revenue, can't justify failover yet). Roadmap includes mobile shells and end-to-end encryption. Happy to answer anything ā€” would love feedback, especially from anyone who's run a community on Discord and wished it had less... them.
