Echo - Some things are easier to write than to say.

A quiet place to put down what you are carrying from a parent who rewrote the story, a partner who made you doubt your own memory, or a week that took more than you had.

A lot of what people carry never gets said out loud. Not because it is unspeakable, but because saying it costs something it needs a listener with time, and the right moment, and the nerve to start. Most of it never finds all three at once.
So it stays inside, and it gets heavier, and after a while a person starts to doubt their own memory of it. That last part is the one that does the most damage. Someone tells you it did not happen that way often enough, and eventually you stop trusting what you saw.
Writing something down is a small act against that. It puts one version of events somewhere outside your own head, where it cannot be quietly edited by anyone else. That is the whole idea here.
