Hi Product Hunt, I'm Gomeng, the solo developer behind Easy Video Downloader.
I originally built it for my own video collection. I use a NAS with Stash, so I wanted a downloader that could send saved videos to my own storage.
Open a webpage in the app, play a video, and choose a detected download. Pick a local folder or a configured FTP/FTPS destination. A download queue lets you keep browsing while files are being saved.
Supported media:
- Direct video files, including MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV, M4V, AVI, and 3GP.
- HLS (.m3u8) and MPEG-DASH (.mpd), including supported non-DRM live streams.
- Additional stream types such as Smooth Streaming, HTTP-FLV/TS, RTSP over TCP, and plain RTMP, subject to source and codec support.
It is useful for short clips, longer web videos, offline viewing, and a personal NAS library. The file format and how a site delivers the video determine compatibility, rather than the video's genre.
The browser also includes ad and pop-up blocking. Optional TLS fragmentation, built with Jigsaw's Outline SDK, can help with some SNI-based network blocks. Its effectiveness depends on the network and the type of blocking.
You can download the app free from Google Play and try it without creating an account. Only download content you own or have permission to save. DRM-protected media is excluded, and site changes or login requirements can affect detection and downloading.
I'd like to hear how Android users organize the videos they want to keep, especially when their library lives on a NAS.
