DoomClock - Stop Doomscrolling with DoomClock!

by
DoomClock is an android application which will help you stop doomscrolling! While on your favourite addictive app, you will always know how much time you spent today on it! Also, you can set up a daily limit on them and see how much time it's left for you on that app!

Hello, I've created DoomClock after facing a problem with doom scrolling. I didn't like the default app limit of Android since I never knew how much time was left. So I've created this Android app. In case people will actually like and use it, I will also consider creating the IOS version.

This is such a real problem in modern life. I’ve lost count of how many times I got stuck in endless scrolling on Reels or Shorts.

The default Android/iOS tools don’t really handle this in a meaningful way, so this feels like a great approach.

Have you thought about adding small prompts that make users reflect on the time they’re spending? Something like “you could be learning a new hobby or building a new skill” could be really powerful.

Congrats on the idea and initiative!

Yes, at the moment it's in a validation phase. If I see people are interested, I will maintain and keep the application updated.

Currently, when the user tries to extend or remove a limit, I present a message trying to discourage them from doing that, but I was also thinking of using some technique that adds friction, like for example puzzles that become increasingly more difficult based on the user's ability.

I was also considering tailored messages and notifications based on how the user is behaving, encouraging them when they are improving and discouraging them when they remove or increase the time limit, as you suggested.

I really hope people find this app useful!
Thanks for your message!
