Docsify v5 is here – the biggest update in the project's history, over two years in the making! 🎉

If you're new to Docsify: it turns Markdown files into a documentation site with zero build step. No static HTML generation, no pipeline. Just an index.html and deploy almost anywhere.

This release brings a full UI overhaul with dark mode, significant accessibility improvements, native GitHub-style callouts, ESM support with type definitions, simplified theming via CSS custom properties, and countless bug fixes across 4 RC cycles of community testing.

v4 remains available but won't receive further updates – check the upgrade guide at before migrating.
