What would you want from a virtual pet living on your desktop?
Hi everyone!
I’m the solo developer of Desktop Gremlins, an interactive virtual pet for Windows. It lives transparently above your applications, reacts to music and programs, develops through different character forms, and can occasionally cause playful desktop chaos.
While building it, I realized that different people expect very different things from a desktop companion. Some want a calm pet that sleeps beside their work. Others want customization, minigames, useful reminders, funny interactions, or livestream integration.
Desktop Gremlins currently includes pet care, evolution, moods, multiple monitors, window attachment, Steam Workshop characters, visual effects, and Twitch Channel Point rewards.
I would love to hear your opinion:
What would make you keep a virtual pet running every day?
Would you prefer more useful features or more playful interactions?
What type of character would you want as your desktop companion?
What usually makes you uninstall desktop applications like this?
Honest feedback is very welcome. I’m actively using community suggestions to plan future updates. Thanks! 💙
