What must local dental clinic software prove before a clinic trusts it?

by

I’m launching Dental Ark today and I’d like feedback from anyone who has worked around clinics, patient records, scheduling, billing, or small local businesses.

Dental Ark is intentionally local-first: patients, appointments, FDI tooth charting, treatment notes, images, billing, PDF export, follow-ups, and manual backups run on the clinic’s own computer instead of a monthly cloud subscription.

The hard question is trust. For a small dental clinic, what must desktop clinic software prove before it feels safe to try?

1. Backup and restore workflow

2. Patient record export / PDF output

3. Billing and payment clarity

4. Data ownership and offline use

5. Simplicity for front desk staff

I’m not claiming insurance clearinghouse, e-prescribing, cloud sync, HIPAA certification, or enterprise multi-location features. The goal is a focused local workflow for small clinics. What would you want to see first on the launch page?
