DejaShot reads the text in every screenshot in your folders and remembers which app each new one came from. Press ⇧⌘Space, type a word you remember, and find it. All on your Mac. No account, no cloud.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm the maker of DejaShot.
A screenshot is the quickest way to keep something. An error, a price, a booking, a design you liked. Then it lands on your Mac named for the second you took it, and nothing remembers what was in it or which app it came from.
DejaShot is the missing half. Choose your folders and it reads the text in every screenshot, newest first. Then ⇧⌘Space opens a search from any app. Type a word you remember and press Return.
It also notes the app and window for each new screenshot, so "figma pricing" can find a pricing page you captured in Figma, even if the word Figma isn't in the image.
What it isn't: a capture tool. Keep ⌘⇧4 or CleanShot. DejaShot reads what they save.
Two honest limits. The source app is only noted for screenshots taken while DejaShot is running, because macOS never kept that. Older screenshots are found by their text. And there's no trial, because nothing is read until you activate. Instead there's a 14-day refund, no forms.
Everything runs on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no telemetry.
The first 10 licenses are free, as a thank you for being early. I'd love your honest take on two things: the first minute after install, and whether the search finds what you expect. I'll answer every comment today.
