Datagator is a free browser extension that uncovers illegal tracking and enables you to join legal claims against those who have violated your privacy. When successful, we share 60% of any profits we receive from those claims with you (after covering legal expenses). Why Datagator? Every day, thousands of trackers invade the privacy of millions by building detailed profiles based on their online activities. The current adtech industry is a growing threat to privacy, and this has to change. While you might block trackers using extensions or DNS sinkholes, many don't know how, leaving millions of internet users exposed. Datagator aims to force change in the adtech industry by taking legal action against trackers and websites who ignore privacy laws. By hitting illegal trackers and their clients where it hurts (their pockets), we seek to create financial incentives to prevent future privacy breaches and fix a broken business model. Achievements Datagator and its partners have obtained €76,500 in court for injunctions and damages across six cases.
