Dashi Dance - Learn any dance faster with your pocket practice studio

by
Dashi Dance is a practice studio for dancers who learn from video. Import any dance clip, slow it down without the audio going off-pitch, mirror it, A/B-loop the hard section, record yourself hands-free, then compare your take with the reference side by side, aligned. Export it, keep a streak, unlock Dashi the dancing cat as you practice. The full practice loop is free; Plus and Pro add themes, iCloud sync, auto-align and pitch/EQ. iPhone and iPad, 15 languages, no account, no tracking.

Hi Product Hunt! Dashi Dance started as a personal itch: learning choreography from video means scrubbing back to the same eight counts, squinting at a move that isn't mirrored, then switching to the camera app to film yourself and eyeballing the two videos side by side. So we built the practice studio we wanted — import any dance video, slow it down without the audio going off-pitch, mirror it, A/B-loop the hard section, record yourself against the reference with a countdown (the take stops on its own when the reference ends, so you never touch the phone mid-run), then watch your take beside the reference, aligned. A few things that made it fun to build: - An unusual team: one engineer (new to iOS) pair-building with an AI coding agent since day one. - Our screenshots and previews couldn't use real dancers' choreography, so a cat does the dancing: Dashi, the mascot. In the app, practicing unlocks Dashi poses in a 19-sticker collection. - All seven App Store accessibility labels are set, and it ships in 15 languages. The full practice loop is free (ad-supported); Plus and Pro add themes, iCloud sync, auto-align and pitch/EQ. Built during RevenueCat's Shipaton. If you learn dances from video: what's the most annoying part of your current setup?
