Hey everyone! I'm the developer behind CutOut.
I started this project because I wanted a background remover that was actually free. No subscriptions, no accounts, no watermarks, and no uploading your images to some server.
So I built CutOut, a free and open-source desktop app that runs entirely offline.
With v2.0.0, you get four AI models to choose from, batch processing, custom ONNX model support, background replacement, edge refinement, and manual touch-up tools. It's available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
The whole project is open source under the MIT license, and I plan to keep CutOut free.
I'd really appreciate feedback on three things:
How well does the background removal work on different types of images?
Is the interface easy to understand and use?
What features would make CutOut more useful to you?
I'm still improving the app, so bug reports and suggestions are genuinely helpful.
