I built an AI video editor that hands you back the timeline. What would you ask it to edit?

I make a lot of videos for my own apps and products, and I was tired of jumping between apps: one for music, one for sound effects, one for stock footage, another to edit, then again to A/B test versions.

So I built Cutaway. You describe the edit in a sentence, like "open on the strongest line, cut every pause, captions 2-3 words at a time", and it cuts your own footage into a finished video. Then you get a full timeline where every cut, caption and transition it made is yours to change.

  • All your media lives in one project, so the next version is one sentence away

  • On iPhone, iPad and Mac

  • Launching here on Saturday

Curious: what's the edit you always put off? And would you rather the AI do the whole video, or just the first cut?

Cutaway - Tell it the edit. It cuts your video. You keep every frame.

Type or say the edit you want ("open on the strongest line, cut every pause, captions 2-3 words at a time") and Cutaway cuts your own footage into a finished video in minutes. Then it hands you a real timeline: every cut, caption, title and transition it made is yours to drag, retime or delete. Editing and export run on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, so your video files never leave it. The full manual editor is free, with no watermark.
