We tripled CTR in 7 days using our own tool — here's exactly what we fixed"
This is Product Hunt's discussion thread for CTR Doctor. This is a community engagement opportunity — what you write here gets seen by Product Hunt's audience of founders, makers, and early adopters. Write something that starts a conversation, not a sales pitch.
Best title:
"We tripled CTR in 7 days using our own tool — here's exactly what we fixed"
Body:
We built CTR Doctor to solve a problem we had on our own site: aibookseo.com was getting 57,900 monthly impressions from Google but only 125 clicks — a 0.2% CTR when we should have been getting 3-5x more based on our rankings.
So we used CTR Doctor on ourselves. Here's what it found:
→ Broken H1 template strings (JavaScript rendering failure — Google couldn't read our page headings) → Title/meta mismatches on 20+ pages (our titles were about our tool, not about what the page actually covered) → Generic SERP snippets that didn't match user search intent
We implemented the fixes. 7 days later: → CTR: 0.2% → 0.6% (3x improvement) → Clicks: +105% week over week → 6 of 9 tracked pages showing IMPROVING status
No new content. No new backlinks. Just fixing what was already broken.
Happy to answer any questions about the diagnostic approach, how we detect JS rendering failures, or what the biggest CTR killers are across the sites we've analyzed. What's the worst CTR gap you've seen on your own site?
