The CrowdSec Console - Monitor cyber threats on your online services
by•
Connected to the CrowdSec open-source security tool, the Console provides actionable data to visually explore threats, alerts, remediation decisions and get an instant overview of any IP suspicious activity on your services.
@caroline_lidz excellent one. We have created a consensus engine to ensure all IPs that we collect are indeed malicious. IPs are first curated by the team. We have 4 different curation tools. 1/ we use a (TR) trust rank, system. It reflects how frequently / accurately and for how long a machine participated in the network. TR evolves overtime to reflect good & bad behaviors. 2/ Quarantine. No machine that is less than 6 months in the network can partake in the decision process. 3/ our honeypot network is TR0 and verifies signals to allow others to grow their own TR. 4/ We have a white, so we never ban critical and trustable IPs (like google DNS, Microsoft updates, etc.- which is also crowdsourced.
An easy to deploy and community maintained security engine. I'm a self hosted addict so I have this installed on my servers to easy and early detect any treat. There's no 100% security, but I'm pretty confident that when using CrowdSec I'm near that 99.9999999999% and that gives me peace of mind.
"Threat Intelligence" is an over-used term that's come to mean expensive, curated, and limited-use data feeds. This is different. This is a community-sourced, read-to-implement (meaning, rapid time to value), and trustworthy source of information on bad actors on specific IP blocks/addresses. Plug is in, let it do the work of removing the loud and obnoxious attackers.
Contribution is very important to this process, so if you can contribute, I encourage you to do so. Great platform.
@wh1t3rabbit, let's cut the background noise indeed. Thanks for your support.

Love this product so far! I haven't had any detected intrusions yet, which is good, but also disappointing since I check the dashboard a lot to see some changes. 😁
@jpdvm2014, when intrusions attempts come, you will know. But not for the bad reasons, you have my word! Hope you will be able to see these cool graphs for yourself soon

I am so excited to see you all continuing to add amazing tools to CrowdSec. I'll have to try out the Console for my home lab.
Quick question, is there an Ansible module or someway to automatically setup the client and register it with the console?

@itguyeric we don't provide one ourselves. However, some people wrote role to help install CrowdSec and configure it but nothing official yet

@lucas_cherifi1
Enthusiastic, yes, it is true.
But, in fact, servers not protected by the Crowdsec community will be all the more targeted by attacks!
The more defenders of a healthy Internet there are, the more vulnerable unprotected servers will be, right?
