Hey Product Hunt! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Bob, founder of ComplyStack. The problem: Small businesses (restaurants, contractors, clinics, salons) need compliance documents โ€” OSHA plans, employee handbooks, privacy policies โ€” but face a lose-lose choice: Pay a lawyer $500โ€“$2,000 per document Use generic templates that miss state-specific requirements and risk fines I've seen small business owners get hit with OSHA penalties averaging $16,131 per serious violation, often for documentation they didn't know they needed. What we built: ComplyStack uses AI to generate state-specific, industry-tailored compliance documents in under 3 minutes. You answer a short questionnaire about your business, and we cross-reference federal (OSHA, ADA, HIPAA) and your state's actual regulations to produce a document with real regulatory citations. What makes it different: ๐Ÿ“ State-specific โ€” not generic templates. A CA restaurant gets different requirements than a TX contractor. ๐Ÿ“‹ 12 document types โ€” OSHA plans, handbooks, privacy policies, incident reports, food safety plans, workplace violence prevention plans, and more ๐Ÿ“– Real citations โ€” every requirement links back to the actual CFR section or state statute โšก 2 minutes to answer, ~60 seconds to generate Free plan lets you generate 2 documents at no cost โ€” no credit card needed. Would love your feedback! What compliance pain points have you experienced?

Nice concept! Is it US-centric only or do you plan to scale it worldwide?

Bob Milani

@mrmewfreeย Thank u! Great question! Right now we're focused on the US โ€” federal regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA) plus state-specific compliance across all 50 states. That alone is a massive surface area for small businesses.

International expansion is absolutely on our roadmap. Europe is the natural next step โ€” GDPR compliance docs, EU workplace safety directives, and country-specific employment law are all huge pain points for SMBs there too. We'd approach it region by region: UK first (English-speaking, well-documented regulations), then EU markets like Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

No legal blockers to operating there โ€” we'd just need to build out the regulation knowledge base for each jurisdiction, similar to how we handle US state-by-state variations today. The AI engine and infrastructure are already built for multi-jurisdiction support.

So short answer: US-first, Europe next, then broader international. If you have a specific region you'd love to see, let us know โ€” user demand drives our priority list!

Klara Minarikova

You mentioned Europe is next. GDPR is the baseline, but EU countries still differ โ€” age of consent rules, employee data handling, even how penalties work vary between Germany, France and the rest. Are you planning to account for those national differences, or start with one EU-wide version?

Bob Milani
@klara_minarikovaย Yes, we will count for those just like states. Soon we will go into cities in each state. We just need to make sure the AI is always updating the knowledge base in order to be accurate when building documents. Here is an A/B test and we also took some of the documents created to Grok or few others to check on accuracy and up to date and they all came back with the same results we had:

@bob_milaniย Thanks for the detailed breakdown. The state-level accuracy improvements are impressive โ€” that gives me more confidence about how the EU rollout could handle country-specific differences. Will you start with the bigger markets like Germany and France, or go EU-wide from day one?

Bob Milani

@klara_minarikovaย Great question โ€” and it's something we've been researching deeply. The short answer: Germany and France first, but not all at once.

The EU is significantly more complex than US state-by-state expansion. Each country has its own implementation of EU directives, mandatory local-language requirements, and the EU AI Act (enforcement starts August 2026) adds a whole new compliance layer for AI-generated documents that doesn't exist in the US.

Germany alone requires ~25 distinct compliance documents across our verticals โ€” from Gefรคhrdungsbeurteilung (risk assessments) to HACCP-Konzept for restaurants to Hygienekonzept for salons. France has a similar count with its own frameworks like the DUERP (workplace risk assessment with 40-year retention!) and the Plan de Maรฎtrise Sanitaire for food service. About 40% overlap between the two countries, but the rest is country-specific โ€” and everything must be in the local language.

We're targeting Germany and France as our first EU markets given the market size (3.4M and 3.8M SMEs respectively), but the rollout will be phased โ€” likely starting with the UK for English-language validation, then expanding into the larger EU markets. Expect to see movement on this within a month. Because I am working on below project ;)

On a related note โ€” I'm also working on a separate project that's fully AI-automated: an end-to-end platform for business permits and contractor licensing across all 50 US states. AI handles everything including form completion and PDF processing (which is genuinely hard to automate well). Stay tuned on that one.

Everything that I have created is all controlled by AI. Every application I have built has learning capability so overtime it will keep getting better. Of course not everything is perfect so I have to make sure I can analyze and test.

EU blurs the line between AI tool and professional advisor. Incorrect compliance doc could create liability. I do need Human in the loop still for now for these mundane processes. My goal is to empower all small businesses to thrive because that is what AI is giving you the power to be creative and the power doesn't have to be in the hands of the few companies. The new generation in my mind will be all entrepreneurs and creative people.

Klara Minarikova

@bob_milaniย The 40% overlap between DE and FR is a useful benchmark โ€” I'd have guessed lower honestly. The phased UK-first approach makes sense for validation before dealing with local-language compliance. Curious whether you'll handle the translations in-house or partner with local compliance experts for each market.

Amazing product, really love it. It is useful especially for non-resident owners like me. Especially the ones who are not familiar with state compliance rules and as you know already foreign owned companies in the US are growing rapidly day after day especially regarding tech startups ! Good luck on your launch and keep up the good work !

Bob Milani

@yassine_rahmaniย Thank you so much! That means a lot. Exactly and is hard for someone who is from abroad to know all these things. Its tough enough without having to figure out which state-specific rules apply to you! Really appreciate the kind words and glad it's helpful!
