What do wellbeing apps get wrong about feeling overwhelmed?

by•

I’m curious whether anyone else has noticed this.

Most productivity apps are designed to help us do more. But what happens when you’re already so overwhelmed that even getting started feels impossible?

I’m a 23-year-old solo founder working full-time in healthcare, and after being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I decided to build something that approached this problem differently.

That’s how Come Up Wellbeing started.

It’s a free iOS app designed to make overwhelming moments more manageable through calming tools, task breakdown, mood tracking and gentle encouragement.

I’m also developing an interactive Discovery Studio website and exploring ways to bring similar support into workplaces.

But here’s what I’d genuinely love to know:

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, what do you actually wish an app could help you with?

Is it getting started, calming your mind, organising your thoughts, or something existing apps haven’t addressed?

I’m currently improving Come Up based on feedback and looking for Android beta testers ahead of its Google Play release.

I’d appreciate honest opinions, suggestions and constructive criticism. I’m building this independently, and understanding what people genuinely need matters far more to me than adding features for the sake of it.
