Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the maker of Coloring Book Engine. A coloring book is more than a collection of generated images. The pages need a consistent style, the cover and interior need to fit together, and the final PDF needs the right margins and bleed. Then there’s the content you need to promote it. I built CBE to connect those steps in one Windows desktop workflow: planning → line art → coloring → book layout → export → videos. A few things that make it different: • Book-level consistency, with style references and recurring elements. • Print preparation tools for margins, bleed, spine dimensions, and page order, plus a 3D book preview. • Coloring videos made from the same pages, so the book also gives you promotional material. • Local AI on a compatible GPU, optional cloud AI with your own API keys, or a workflow using artwork you already have. • A one-time license instead of a subscription. I also used Astra while developing CBE. With the MCP integration, an AI agent can help plan a book and call CBE’s production tools. You review the plan and the outputs along the way. You can request a trial key at . I’d love feedback from coloring-book publishers, illustrators, and creators: which part of getting from an idea to a finished book takes you the most time?
How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?
Astra expanded my ambition for Coloring Book Engine from a desktop tool operated entirely by hand into a creative workflow that users can also drive through an AI agent. As a solo founder, I use Astra for development, while its role extends into the product itself: users can generate content through OAuth and API access, and control CBE from ChatGPT Work through MCP. That combination lets me pursue a broader goal: connecting coloring book creation and coloring timelapse production in one workflow, with users choosing between hands-on control and agent-assisted execution. Astra helps me both build that workflow and make it accessible through natural language.
