If Coil is new, how does it compare with or , which was recently acquired by Twitter?
Yes exactly, I came here to post the same question!!!
As I am only the hunter not the founder I will try to answer. In my view there Brave Ads differs as it still works with Ads. Scroll seams more similar to Coil. Even it seems to be more massadoption-ready because it works on any browser which is a big pro. But at both apps in a certain the story is still a "about ads" What I like about Coil is: it is more like a "internet subscription" like netflix for internet-content. Ad's are not even a topic in this scenario. At least this is what I prefer.
Both of our YouTube channels and website are monetized with Coil. After every livestream, we receive an email the following day with the amount that we received from people watching. Using this monetization method, we have accumulated over $1000 in about a year. Micropayments are streamed based on watch time. With the Chrome plugin, you can see real time payments being streamed. A few websites that use Coil monetization thefader.com. Pitchfork.com, revolvermag.com, and many others.
Love the idea of non-distraction-websites. I have added it to unminus.com as looking for a adfree solution. Barrier of Coil members have to user browser extension or special browsers is not optimal. do you think "web monetization" with "interledger" could become a standard?
That's interesting. What sites would we have access to?
