What does "local-first" actually mean anymore?

Every new developer tool claims to be local first.

But most still require you to set up:

• a database

• an API

• authentication

• a cloud account

• migrations

So I'm curious...

What does local-first actually mean to you?

Where do you draw the line between a local app and a backend?
