Honest Feedback Needed: Are NFT Coding Videos a Game-Changer?
by•
A core idea of CodeCup is turning your challenge videos into Solana NFTs. The goal is to let you truly own and monetize your content, not just "post" it.
Be honest:
As a dev, does the idea of owning your coding tutorial as an asset resonate with you?
Would you be more likely to create content if you could mint it as an NFT?
We're building this for you, so your unfiltered feedback is gold.

Hi @john_lunsford_ph ,
Thanks for your insightful questions! Here’s a brief explanation:
Advantages of NFTs over traditional licensing or rental:
NFTs enable true digital ownership on-chain, which means developers can prove and transfer their skills and achievements in a tamper-proof, verifiable way. Unlike traditional licenses, NFTs provide portable credentials that are immutable and publicly verifiable without intermediaries.
Minting and owning NFTs:
When a developer completes a challenge or reaches a milestone, we mint an NFT on Solana via the gasless Underdog Protocol. The NFT represents their achievement or content ownership and is held in their personal, non-custodial wallet.
Trading or renting NFTs:
Users have full ownership and can trade or sell their NFTs freely. The platform currently supports ownership transfer; renting or pay-per-use models are planned as future innovations.
How NFTs are held and regulated:
NFTs are stored in users’ own wallets (Phantom, Solflare, etc.), so there is no custodial ownership by the platform. This decentralized holding model eliminates potential regulatory risks tied to custody and ensures user sovereignty.
