We gave an agent 1,000 Elon Musk clips and no idea what to make
One of the experiments we tried while building Clipto MCP ended up being way more fun than expected.
We had indexed around 1,000 clips from Elon Musk interviews in Clipto. Instead of giving Claude a specific editing task, we basically asked: “What would be something fun to make with all this footage?”
After analyzing what's been indexed, it came up with the idea of making a music video around Daft Punk’s Around the World.
The interesting part for me was watching the division of work happen.
Clipto had already analyzed the footage into transcripts, speakers, scenes, and precise timestamps. Through MCP, Claude could ask for specific moments across the entire library, decide which ones worked for the idea, and then assemble the result with FFmpeg.
We didn’t manually pick the clips or edit the output.
It made me realize that MCP gets much more interesting when the context you give an agent isn’t just documents or files, but a deeply indexed media library.
We packaged up the same Elon footage we used if anyone wants to try a different idea with it. Would genuinely love to see what other agents come up with.
