At the beginning of 2025, I was laid off. Everything happened in the classic way. A meeting appeared on my calendar with 30 minutes’ notice. Right after the meeting, my access to the systems was disabled. During the call, I only had enough time to write “goodbye” to the colleagues I had worked with for five years. I was one of the core developers who had built that SaaS product from scratch. Company policies can change very quickly. Even those of us who performed well and had deep knowledge of the product and codebase were not protected from being removed from the company in a single day. But the biggest disappointment was something else. During those five years, I had barely done any interviews. I had lost that skill. In the first few months, I lost somewhere between five and ten job offers simply because I was not prepared. What I expected to be a one-month search for a new project turned into almost six months of preparation and countless interviews. I built Clariox because I do not want to make that mistake again.
